Rachael - Elgin and Laurier

1. How would you describe your style?

I've never really felt like I've had a particular style since I often just wear what I feel looks awesome for the day, but I do tend to lean towards vintage, pinup, metal and second-hand. I'm an eclectic kind of person so it's often hard to pick just one that matches my personality.

2. What are you inspired by? Who are your style icons?

Definitely fearless rocker women such as Courtney Love, Gwen Stefani (c. 1995), Poly Styrene from the X-Ray Spex and Siouxie Sioux. I've loved their unapologetic outspokenness as well as their daring and experimental fashion choices. I'm also inspired by Dita Von Teese's take on 40s glamour. Seeing her look so stunning in film noir-inspired dresses reminds me of how flattering the clothing is on all body types, while revealing little and leaving a bit to the imagination!

3. What is your favourite Ottawa store? Favourite Ottawa restaurant or bar/club?

My favourite Ottawa store is Ragtime–a true treasure trove of vintage clothing. My favourite Ottawa restaurant is Pure Gelato.
